Decisions,   decisions

My plan since highschool was to pursue medicine. However my counselor from then had advised me to choose a career I had a passion for. When I first came to Rutgers the major I was planning on pursuing was Animal Science to become a vet. This was a dream I had as a child since I enjoyed dealing with animals. However, I did not realize that i did not have a passion for it, until I was on that medical leave.

What I did immediately do was become a Douglass women. At an oriention, the summer before school started, I was introduced to this and they represented what I stood for. All my life experiences showed me that I had to be an independant, strong woman with a voice; this is what the Douglass women represent.

When I decided I wanted to be a PT I changed my major to exercise science, but it was the class Introduction to Planning, Policy, and Public Health that made me finally decide on Public Health. It taught me that this major was not only about the health and well being of people but also about prevention. Preventing injuries that could change or damage the lives of people is what I wanted.
